Course Description
If you have played Grange Park you will need little or no persuasion regarding the merits of our Championship Course. Grange Park Golf Club is a traditional parkland course set in the industrial town of St Helens, but you wouldn't know it; neither would you realise that the Club was established in 1891.At 6496 yards from the medal tees, it's a true test of golfing skill. The course's main defence are the greens, which are regularly amongst the best in the country and the views from the highest points are stunning. The tranquil setting of the Clubhouse on the edge of our parkland golf course, makes Grange Park an excellent venue for private functions and business meetings when you simply want to get away from it all. Yet we are less than 2 miles from the centre of St Helens, conveniently situated on A58.On the ground floor of the Clubhouse there is the main lounge/bar, conservatory and spike bar, snooker room and recently refurbished locker rooms. Upstairs, Peppercorns Restaurant and our Boardroom have superb views across the course. Our first floor Boardroom, overlooking 1st tee and 18th green, provides a great setting for meetings, with the option of catering being provided in our adjoining Peppercorns Restaurant.Formal dinners and Corporate or Presentation events can easily be accommodated, and the Lounge has the additional benefit of a private bar.Peppercorns Restaurant on the first floor is an ideal venue for smaller functions. Our lovely Club House features a spacious lounge room which is available to cater for a variety of functions from Christenings to Birthday Parties. We also have a Meeting Room upstairs in a secluded area of our Club House which is available for businesses to use for conferences and meetings. For more information regarding the Club please contact our Secretary/Manager John Jackson on secretary@grangeparkgolfclub.co.uk or visit our website www.grangeparkgolfclub.co.uk for more details.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Grange Park
Get answers to common questions about playing Grange Park and what to expect.
How difficult is Grange Park for mid-handicap golfers?
Grange Park presents a demanding test. With a slope of 120, it remains playable for a wide handicap range. The course rating of 70 reflects on scoring relative to par 72.
What tees should a 15 handicap play at Grange Park?
A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6000 yards. The back tees extend to 6500 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.
What is considered a good score at Grange Park?
With a course rating of 70 and par 72, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 72 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.
How long is Grange Park and how does yardage affect play?
Measuring 6500 yards at maximum length, scoring depends more on placement than raw power.
What type of course is Grange Park and how should I play it?
Grange Park is designed as a Parkland layout. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.
What features make Grange Park strategically challenging?
The combination of a slope rating of 120 and yardage reaching 6500 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
