The Club's first women's champion was held two years later in 1897.The Denver Country Club moved from its original location at Overland Park to its present location astride Cherry Creek in 1905. Tillinghast, Bill Coore and most recently Gil Hanse, 2009 Golf Architect of the Year, who was selected in a world-wide competition to design and build the 2016 Olympic golf venue in Rio de Janeiro.
