All Wedges (LW to PW) | Tendencies Discovery

Program: Center of the green: reduce spread on wedges

Discover tendencies amongst wedges raise awareness, what is likely to happen in a given situation. Hit one bucket of ~50 balls.

Driving Range30 min
Diagram for All Wedges (LW to PW) | Tendencies Discovery
1

Pick one flag or target on the green for wedge shots.

2

Set up 5 targets: one at the flag, and four others short, long, left, and right, each about 5% of the distance to the flag.

3

Get 35 balls.

4

Hit 7 balls to each target.

5

Use any wedge and switch clubs randomly between shots.

6

Try to land each ball close to its target.

7

A shot is successful if it lands in the circle around the target (about 5% of the flag distance).

8

Take all 35 shots (7 to each target), then enter your score in the app, out of 35 attempts.

Day 43

All Wedges (LW to PW) | Weaknesses Discovery

Program: Center of the green: reduce spread on wedges

Discover weaknesses amongst wedges shots and clubs to avoid in critical situations. Hit one bucket of ~50 balls.

Driving Range43 min
Diagram for All Wedges (LW to PW) | Weaknesses Discovery

Pick flags/targets (one or more) suitable for wedges (LW,SW,GW and/or PW). Create a perimeter around the flag at [5% of the total distance to the flag] using four cones or buckets (or use imagination). Pick one flag/target to hit to and one cone on the opposite side to avoid. Hit 15 balls with each wedge (one bucket of ~50 balls). Goal is to hit as close as possible to the target while avoiding the opposing cone (opposing can represents an obstacle: water hazard, sand trap or similar). The type of shot/club that finds the obstacle is a weakness. Switch between flags/targets. Switch between wedges throughout the exercise. Work on any ball flight.

Wedges (LW to PW) | Birdie-Par-Bogey Radius

Program: Center of the green: reduce spread on wedges

Use wedges only to land the ball inside the radius. Hit one bucket of ~50 balls. Keep the score relative to PAR.

Driving Range31 min
Diagram for Wedges (LW to PW) | Birdie-Par-Bogey Radius
1

Put a flag on the green as a target.

2

Make two circles around the flag: the first circle is 3 yards (birdie zone), the second circle is 6 yards (par zone).

3

Get 36 balls and use the same setup for every shot.

4

Split the 36 balls into 3 groups of

5

For the first 12 shots, try to land the ball inside the small (3-yard) circle.

6

For the next 12 shots, try to land the ball inside the big circle but outside the small circle.

7

For the last 12 shots, try to land the ball anywhere inside the big circle.

8

Use any wedge club and change clubs whenever you want.

9

Count a shot as a success if it stops in the correct zone for that group.

After all shots, count how many were successful out of 36 and enter the score in the app.

Day 45

Wedges (LW to PW) | Quadrants

Program: Center of the green: reduce spread on wedges

Hit 12 balls to each quadrant using wedges only. Hit one bucket of ~50 balls. Count total number of successful shots.

Driving Range31 min
Diagram for Wedges (LW to PW) | Quadrants
1

Set up four cones to make four equal areas around the target flag.

2

Place each cone so it marks about 5% of the way from your ball to the flag.

3

Use only wedges (LW, SW, GW, or PW) to hit 36 shots.

4

Hit 9 shots at each area (quadrant).

5

Use any wedge or area order, but finish 9 shots in each area.

6

Count every shot that stops in the correct area.

Driving Range31 min
Diagram for Mid irons (7,6,5) | 9 Targets
1

Set up 9 targets around the flag using cones or buckets, each target is spaced evenly apart by 5% of the flag distance.

3

Hit 4 shots at each target for a total of 36 shots.

4

Pick a target at random and aim to land the ball between the cones at that target.

5

You can change clubs anytime, but always set up the ball the same way.
