Drill Framework

Program breakdown

Each drill is designed to prepare you for the course. Follow the program or repeat the drills to improve key areas of your game.

1

Set up four cones to make four equal areas around the target flag.

2

Place each cone so it marks about 5% of the way from your ball to the flag.

3

Use only wedges (LW, SW, GW, or PW) to hit 36 shots.

4

Hit 9 shots at each area (quadrant).

5

Use any wedge or area order, but finish 9 shots in each area.

6

Count every shot that stops in the correct area.

7

Add up successful shots and enter score in the app, out of 36 attempts.

All Wedges (LW to PW) | Weaknesses Discovery

Driving Range

Discover weaknesses amongst wedges shots and clubs to avoid in critical situations. Hit one bucket of ~50 balls.

43 minFocus: Driving Range
Diagram for All Wedges (LW to PW) | Weaknesses Discovery

Pick flags/targets (one or more) suitable for wedges (LW,SW,GW and/or PW). Create a perimeter around the flag at [5% of the total distance to the flag] using four cones or buckets (or use imagination). Pick one flag/target to hit to and one cone on the opposite side to avoid. Hit 15 balls with each wedge (one bucket of ~50 balls). Goal is to hit as close as possible to the target while avoiding the opposing cone (opposing can represents an obstacle: water hazard, sand trap or similar). The type of shot/club that finds the obstacle is a weakness. Switch between flags/targets. Switch between wedges throughout the exercise. Work on any ball flight.

30 minFocus: Driving Range
Diagram for All Wedges (LW to PW) | Tendencies Discovery
1

Pick one flag or target on the green for wedge shots.

2

Set up 5 targets: one at the flag, and four others short, long, left, and right, each about 5% of the distance to the flag.

3

Get 35 balls.

Diagram for Wedges (LW to PW) | Birdie-Par-Bogey Radius
1

Put a flag on the green as a target.

2

Make two circles around the flag: the first circle is 3 yards (birdie zone), the second circle is 6 yards (par zone).

3

Get 36 balls and use the same setup for every shot.

4

Split the 36 balls into 3 groups of

5

For the first 12 shots, try to land the ball inside the small (3-yard) circle.

6

For the next 12 shots, try to land the ball inside the big circle but outside the small circle.

7

For the last 12 shots, try to land the ball anywhere inside the big circle.

8

Use any wedge club and change clubs whenever you want.
