Course Description
The New 18-hole Golf course consists of well-constructed greens with a careful choice of hybrid blend bent-grass which is compatible with the weather at Vet Lab. The greens have been constructed in line with the USPGA recommendations. An effective drainage has been put in place for the same. The total putting surface of all 18 greens is over 10,000 square metres. Factors concerning smoothness, speed and receptiveness were a major consideration during the construction. All fairways and tees have been planted with local indigenous Kikuyu grass. The fairways are an average width of 40 metres in width. Trees skirting the fairways have also been planted. Approximately 300,000 square metres of grass has been planted utilizing the local casual labor, thereby providing the much needed income for surrounding families.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Vet Lab
Get answers to common questions about playing Vet Lab and what to expect.
How difficult is Vet Lab for mid-handicap golfers?
Vet Lab is regarded as a strategically complex layout. This slope level makes it manageable compared to championship venues. The course rating of 70 reflects on scoring relative to par 72.
What tees should a 15 handicap play at Vet Lab?
A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6000 yards. The back tees extend to 6500 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.
What is considered a good score at Vet Lab?
With a course rating of 70 and par 72, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 72 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.
How long is Vet Lab and how does yardage affect play?
Stretching to 6500 yards from the back tees, it does not overwhelm length but rewards accuracy.
What type of course is Vet Lab and how should I play it?
The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.
What features make Vet Lab strategically challenging?
The combination of a slope rating of 120 and yardage reaching 6500 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
