Course Description
Founded in 1854, the city of Omaha has always been a dynamic, energetic city continually transforming itself. Whether it was the Native American Indian tribes, pioneers, railroad laborers or meat packers, everyone who came to call Omaha home helped shape its current cultural diversity, hard work ethic, and friendly demeanor. Named after an American Indian Tribe, Omaha means "Those going against the wind or current", Omahans proudly continue to live up to the name. In recent years, the Omaha riverfront and downtown area have experienced tremendous growth with over two billion dollars in new development. A one-of-a-kind $22 million pedestrian bridge S-curves its way across the Missouri River, the signature, cable-stayed Bob Kerrey Bridge is one of the longest pedestrian bridge projects ever constructed, giving Omaha visitors a breathtaking view of the ever-changing skyline. CHI Health Center Omaha, the city's convention center, and arena attracts big-name talent while providing a spacious technology-rich venue for conventions. The 346,000 sq. ft. facility is complemented by the two-million-dollar public art project, "Illumina". The colorful display features more than 40 sculptures inspired by the 13th Century Carnival of Venice and was created by artist Matthew Placzek. It's just a small sample of the creative public art that sprinkles the city. Currently, the 42nd largest city in the United States, the metropolitan area is home to over 900,000 people who welcome visitors with open arms and authentic Midwestern hospitality.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Spring Lake
Get answers to common questions about playing Spring Lake and what to expect.
How difficult is Spring Lake for mid-handicap golfers?
Spring Lake is regarded as a strategically complex layout. This slope level makes it manageable compared to championship venues. The course rating of 70 reflects on scoring relative to par 33.
What tees should a 15 handicap play at Spring Lake?
A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6000 yards. The back tees extend to 6500 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.
What is considered a good score at Spring Lake?
With a course rating of 70 and par 33, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 33 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.
How long is Spring Lake and how does yardage affect play?
Stretching to 6500 yards from the back tees, it does not overwhelm length but rewards accuracy.
What type of course is Spring Lake and how should I play it?
The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.
What features make Spring Lake strategically challenging?
The combination of a slope rating of 120 and yardage reaching 6500 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
