Course Description
Shuttle Meadow Country Club, a classic 18-hole golf course and recreation complex, is located at 51 Randecker Lane, Kensington, CT, the geographical center of the state. Founded in 1917 by a group of area industrialists, the golf course, designed by renowned architect (and twice British Open Champion), Willie Park, Jr., has been privileged to host such prestigious events as the U.S. Amateur Qualifying Tournament as well as numerous Connecticut State Golf Association Championships. It is our vision to become the "club of choice" for people who want an outstanding private golf experience and a distinctive variety of social and family activities.Our mission is to provide an atmosphere that promotes a high quality of golf, tennis, pool, casual and fine dining, and social activities in a family friendly environment that fosters camaraderie for its members and their guests. Shuttle Meadow has been ranked by golf week as one of the best 200 classic courses in America. Today, the club's 370 members, their families and guests share a respect for traditional family life and an interest in varied athletic and social activities, including tennis, platform tennis, and swimming, in addition to the classic golf course. Social activities at Shuttle Meadow are designed to appeal to all ages and many interests in a country club atmosphere. Shuttle Meadow Country Club is a specially chartered non-stock corporation in which each member has an equal vote. Special emphasis is placed on the family. While traditional annual events, like the Candlelight Ball, Junior Sports Banquet and Easter Egg Hunt date back decades, more recent innovations, like the Father-Daughter Dinner Dance and Patio Parties also attract enthusiastic family participation.
