Rock Ridge offers all the benefits of vacation right here in Newtown, CT. I joined the club to enjoy swimming, golfing, and tennis with my family. We immediately fell in love with the club, the staff, and the members. Aside from a very warm family friendly atmosphere the competetion is plentiful. Whether your a single digit handicap or a beginner trying to break a hundred, our tournaments will suit you. This competetion isn't only the men, the competetive women and exciting youth programs thrive. The tennis program has an equal balance of skill level games. How difficult is Rock Ridge Country Club for mid-handicap golfers?

Players often find Rock Ridge Country Club technically exacting. This slope level makes it manageable compared to championship venues. The course rating of 68.6 reflects on scoring relative to par 35.

What tees should a 15 handicap play at Rock Ridge Country Club?

What is considered a good score at Rock Ridge Country Club?

With a course rating of 68.6 and par 35, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 35 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.

Stretching to 6061.0 yards from the back tees, distance is less of a barrier than precision.

What type of course is Rock Ridge Country Club and how should I play it?

The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.

What features make Rock Ridge Country Club strategically challenging?

The combination of a slope rating of 129.0 and yardage reaching 6061.0 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
