Course Description
The golf course at Panama Country Club was built in 1927 by famed designer Donald J. Ross, ASGCA. At just under 6,700 yards the course offers subtle contours, narrow to medium width fairways, and provides a great test of golf for all handicaps. The greens are strategically sized and are very indicative of the era in which they were built. Multiple tees are available ranging from Championship up to the forward tees that come in at 5,400 yards. As you'll find out quickly the course is a sanctuary for wildlife from both land and sea and during your round you may see eagles, egrets, herons, turtles, and even the origin of our logo the famed "fox squirrel". There are no homes on the interior of the course which leaves a nice protected habitat for most all coastal wildlife. Our location offers a beautiful view of North Bay in Lynn Haven, FL visible from our wraparound patio, lawns and our floor to ceiling windows covering the entire back of our clubhouse. Panama Country Club is secluded within the quiet neighborhood of Country Club Harbor Estates. Wedding photographers love our venue for our incredible live oaks and stunning sunsets overlooking the Bailey Bridge. We offer full service banquet catering and a full bar. We strive to create a magical experience here where you and your guests can relax and feel like everything is handled for you. You do not have to be a member to access our space for your event.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Panama
Get answers to common questions about playing Panama and what to expect.
How difficult is Panama for mid-handicap golfers?
Panama presents a demanding test. The 120 slope rating keeps it accessible for developing players. The course rating of 70 reflects on scoring relative to par 72.
What tees should a 15 handicap play at Panama?
A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6000 yards. The back tees extend to 6500 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.
What is considered a good score at Panama?
With a course rating of 70 and par 72, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 72 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.
How long is Panama and how does yardage affect play?
At a full length of 6500 yards, it balances distance with positional strategy.
What type of course is Panama and how should I play it?
Architecturally, it reflects a Parkland style. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.
What features make Panama strategically challenging?
The combination of a slope rating of 120 and yardage reaching 6500 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
