Course Description

The golf course at Panama Country Club was built in 1927 by famed designer Donald J. Ross, ASGCA. At just under 6,700 yards the course offers subtle contours, narrow to medium width fairways, and provides a great test of golf for all handicaps. The greens are strategically sized and are very indicative of the era in which they were built. Multiple tees are available ranging from Championship up to the forward tees that come in at 5,400 yards. As you'll find out quickly the course is a sanctuary for wildlife from both land and sea and during your round you may see eagles, egrets, herons, turtles, and even the origin of our logo the famed "fox squirrel". There are no homes on the interior of the course which leaves a nice protected habitat for most all coastal wildlife. Our location offers a beautiful view of North Bay in Lynn Haven, FL visible from our wraparound patio, lawns and our floor to ceiling windows covering the entire back of our clubhouse. Panama Country Club is secluded within the quiet neighborhood of Country Club Harbor Estates. Wedding photographers love our venue for our incredible live oaks and stunning sunsets overlooking the Bailey Bridge. We offer full service banquet catering and a full bar. We strive to create a magical experience here where you and your guests can relax and feel like everything is handled for you. You do not have to be a member to access our space for your event.

Tee Insight:This course plays like a steady test of wedge control and scrambling on short par fours, where bogey risks build from deceptively tough indexes. Players face repeating pressure to nail approaches and convert par saves without ballooning scores.

How difficult is Panama Country Club for mid-handicap golfers?

Panama Country Club is regarded as a strategically complex layout. The 132.0 slope indicates balanced but noticeable difficulty. The course rating of 76.4 reflects on scoring relative to par 72.

What tees should a 15 handicap play at Panama Country Club?

A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 5416 yards. The back tees extend to 6237.0 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.

What is considered a good score at Panama Country Club?

With a course rating of 76.4 and par 72, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 72 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.

How long is Panama Country Club and how does yardage affect play?

Stretching to 6237.0 yards from the back tees, distance is less of a barrier than precision.

What type of course is Panama Country Club and how should I play it?

The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.

What features make Panama Country Club strategically challenging?

The combination of a slope rating of 132.0 and yardage reaching 6237.0 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
