Imperial remains a friendly and inclusive golf club providing members with two outstanding golf courses, a superior golf club experience, an engaging social environment, and the best overall value in southwest Florida. Our loyal members truly appreciate one another and they graciously welcome new members into the club. One unique characteristic about Imperial Golf Club is that many of our golf members are not residents of Imperial. However, we cordially invite resident and non-resident neighbors to discover the passion, history and tradition of Imperial Golf Club.  Imperial offers two diverse golf course options. The East Course was created by Arthur Hills and was designed with generous fairways and gradual dog-legs creating a more "Northern feel. The West Course was designed by Ward Northrup and features picturesque water hazards, well-bunkered greens and offers a more "Florida" feel. In addition, we are one of few clubs that still believes in "walking" the course and many of our members enjoy this healthy, historic and nostalgic element of the game Our 32,000 sq. ft. clubhouse comfortably accommodates banquet seating, gourmet dining and we also feature relaxed lounge-style seating. You can also enjoy a sandwich or beverage on our outdoor terrace. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about East

Get answers to common questions about playing East and what to expect.

How difficult is East for mid-handicap golfers?

East is regarded as a strategically complex layout. The 135.0 slope indicates balanced but noticeable difficulty. The course rating of 74.2 reflects on scoring relative to par 72.

What tees should a 15 handicap play at East?

A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6502 yards. The back tees extend to 7014.0 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.

What is considered a good score at East?

With a course rating of 74.2 and par 72, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 72 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.

How long is East and how does yardage affect play?

Stretching to 7014.0 yards from the back tees, approach shot length becomes a consistent scoring factor.

What type of course is East and how should I play it?

The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.

What features make East strategically challenging?

The combination of a slope rating of 135.0 and yardage reaching 7014.0 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
