Course Description
Clyde River Golf Club opened for business on June 15th 1991. Originally a 9-hole course, it expanded to an 18-hole layout in 1996. From there, we saw rapid growth as the go-to golf course in central Prince Edward Island. In 2007, we expanded again as the only 27-hole course on the Island. However, in 2017, management decided to scale back to the original 18-hole layout.Since then, we have began developing properties and diversifying ourselves as an organization. Golf has been and remains our priority. We provide a fun and cost-friendly environment for our customers and members and will continue to as long are we remain a company. For more information, visit our website. FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Darrach
Get answers to common questions about playing Darrach and what to expect.
How difficult is Darrach for mid-handicap golfers?
Darrach presents a demanding test. With a slope of 120, it remains playable for a wide handicap range. The course rating of 70 reflects on scoring relative to par 36.
What tees should a 15 handicap play at Darrach?
A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 6000 yards. The back tees extend to 6500 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.
What is considered a good score at Darrach?
With a course rating of 70 and par 36, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 36 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.
How long is Darrach and how does yardage affect play?
Measuring 6500 yards at maximum length, scoring depends more on placement than raw power.
What type of course is Darrach and how should I play it?
Darrach is designed as a Parkland layout. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.
What features make Darrach strategically challenging?
The combination of a slope rating of 120 and yardage reaching 6500 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
