Course Description
Our Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, Alaska, is one of the largest in the world with over 3,500 active duty, retired military, DHS civilians and family members in the area. Kodiak, also known as the 'Emerald Island' is located approximately 250 miles southwest of Anchorage and is the second largest island belonging to the United States. Although considered remote from usual surroundings, Kodiak provides excellent recreational opportunities for everyone to enjoy by just stepping out your front door. If you like the outdoors, you will soon learn to love Kodiak and our MWR program will help create the most memorable times of your life.
