Course Description

Annandale Golf Club was established in 1906 by several prominent members of the Pasadena community, including Henry Huntington, the famed railroad magnate and philanthropist, and George Patton Sr., father of the famous American general. The private club has a storied history and included many famous families such as the Gambles, Kelloggs and Weyerhaeusers who sought the mid-climate of Southern California in the early 1900s as a retreat from the cold winters of the Midwest and Northwest. The 6,462-yard golf course was originally designed by William Watson and Billy Bell but in 2007 Brian Silva, Golf Magazine's Renovation Architect of the Year in 1999, directed a major renovation of the course. The renovation golf course opened in November 2007 to the acclaim of members and guests alike. Today, this historic Club offers golf enthusiasts an impressive 18-hole golf course, two full tennis courts, social activities for all members and their families, and a spectacular cuisine and dining experience. Annandale also offers its members banquet/catering services and amenities for upcoming weddings, brunches, cocktail parties, or other events you may be planning. The Golf Shop's golf professionals and staff are ready and willing to assist our members with instruction, services, equipment and accessories, or just a friendly game of golf. These are just a sample of the choices Annandale Golf Club offers. As a Member of the People Operations & Organizational Excellence Team, you will be a part of a private Club established in 1906! Annandale Golf Club values each addition to the team and offers competitive benefits that far exceed the industry's average. The company rewards for talent/performance and develops within. Well-distinguished careers are formed by those who strive for EXCELLENCE. Welcome to Annandale Golf Club. For more than a century, Annandale has become a Club possessing a rich history of golf and tradition for generations past and present.

Frequently Asked Questions about Annandale Golf Club

Get answers to common questions about playing Annandale Golf Club and what to expect.

How difficult is Annandale Golf Club for mid-handicap golfers?

From a scoring perspective, Annandale Golf Club challenges consistency. Its 142.0 slope rating signals significant difficulty for players above a 15 handicap. The course rating of 78.9 reflects on scoring relative to par 70.

What tees should a 15 handicap play at Annandale Golf Club?

A 15 handicap golfer should consider tees closer to 5478 yards. The back tees extend to 6602.0 yards, which makes approach shots longer and scoring more challenging.

What is considered a good score at Annandale Golf Club?

With a course rating of 78.9 and par 70, a mid-handicap golfer would typically score in the mid to high 80s. Stronger players aiming to break 70 must manage approach shots and avoid penalty strokes.

How long is Annandale Golf Club and how does yardage affect play?

Stretching to 6602.0 yards from the back tees, it does not overwhelm length but rewards accuracy.

What type of course is Annandale Golf Club and how should I play it?

The course follows a traditional Parkland design philosophy. Overall, the setup will reward players who place the ball in safe positions far from hazards. Also, type of shot is more crucial rather than just trying to gain distance.

What features make Annandale Golf Club strategically challenging?

The combination of a slope rating of 142.0 and yardage reaching 6602.0 yards creates consistent pressure on approach shots. You will need to balance risk and reward, especially on longer par 4s and protected greens.
